These are images that seem to stand on their own. They don’t really work with the rest of the purely geometric and abstract imagery in the blog-posts. But still, there’s something about them that I like. And though different from the others, they are still related stylistically and even in other ways. I thought they deserved their own page. Geometric cacophony continues.
I was at my favorite bookstore the other day, just browsing. And I came across a small book about Antonin Gaudi, the artist and architect. Something about his fanciful use of line and geometric form grabbed me. And yet all of his work hangs together as purely organic. I went home and just starting drawing and this lady emerged. For some reason, only God knows why, I started drawing trees from memory and imagination. I referred to all of them as CIRCUIT-trees. Get it? I’ve done a number of them and I keep spontaneously creating them. If anyone hasn’t guessed by now, this is my idea of fun and entertainment.

This reminds me of Calder and even Dali somewhat. I didn’t start out to pay tribute to either one of those, but for me, the similarities are pretty clear. It’s quite different from what’s in the Main Blog, but I still see the relationship.
